ARBZ will supply products for “Russian Railways”

Aktobe hosted a meeting of Intergovernmental Commission on cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia with the participation of Mr. Askar Mamin, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Igor Shuvalov, First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, where a number of important documents were adopted.

Before the start of the main session at Aktobe Rail and Section Works, the parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation between ARBZ LLP and Russian Railways JSC (RZhD).

“The products produced by ARBZ are completely diversified. The works is the most up-to-date and has a great potential for the entire EAEU, “- the First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan noted.

Also, a contract has already been signed with Russian Railways JSC for supply of 7,500 tons of R-65 rails by the end of this year. The first batch is ready for shipment to Chelyabinsk.

“In the morning, Government of the Russian Federation approved an investment program for development of Russian railways. New railway routes will be developing. All this will require, among other things, the products of Aktobe Rail and Section Works. ARBZ is the embodiment of the idea of integration and cooperation. We in Russia will be pleased to buy products for the implementation of railway modernization program», – Mr. Shuvalov said in his turn.

Aktobe Rail and Section Works is the only producer of long heat-strengthened railway rails in EAEU.

Within nine months of 2017 the enterprise produced 116,4 thousand tons of products for the amount of 31,2 billion Tenge. The main consumers of the products are JSC NC KTZh, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan.

At the meeting of Intergovernmental Commission, it was announced that altogether 41 projects to the value of 4.5 billion dollars will be implemented within the framework of the program of industrial-innovative cooperation between Kazakhstan and Russia for 2017-2020.

“Russia is the biggest trading partner of Kazakhstan. Within nine months of this year, trade turnover between our countries increased by 30% and amounted to 11.4 billion dollars. As of today, more than seven thousand companies with Russian investors operate in Kazakhstan”, – Mr. Mamin emphasized during the plenary session.

If we talk about the trade turnover between Aktobe region and the Russian Federation, it grew by 146% and amounted to 828 million dollars within nine months of this year. The region is a place of activity for 650 companies with Russian capital.

In his turn, Mr. Shuvalov did not deny that there are still some shortcomings and rough edges between the two countries. In particular, when transferring the goods from Kazakhstan to Russia and during transit traffic. He assured that the relevant instructions have already been given for the development of a plan to remove barriers and restrictions. For that reason, there are representatives of Ministry of Transport and Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance on the Russian delegation.

The volume of cargo transportation between the two countries within nine months of 2017 amounted to 45.5 million tons, which is 20% more compared to the same period of the last year. First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation promised that Russia will try to launch their section of Western China – Western Europe road in shorter terms.
