Askar Mamin and Igor Shuvalov hold a meeting of Kazakh and Russian commission

19th meeting of Kazakhstan-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for trade and economic cooperation had been held in Aktobe, as informed by the press service of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The First Deputy Prime Minister of the RoK Askar Mamin chaired Kazakhstan delegation and the Russian delegation was chaired by the First Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Igor Shuvalov.

Development of bilateral cooperation in the field of industry-investment, fuel and energy, transport, nuclear industry, agricultural industry, health service, education and tourism was discussed during the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission.

Askar Mamin pointed out the success of relations of Kazakhstan and Russia at all levels of interstate relationship.

“Russia is the main trade partner of Kazakhstan,” – said Askar Mamin and pointed upward trend of external turnover between two countries.

Goods turnover between the Republic of Kazakhstan and Russia for nine month of this year has been increased by 30 percent in comparison with the same period of the previous year and composed 11.4 billion US dollars.

“More than seven thousand companies are conducting the business in Kazakhstan with participation of Russian capital,” – said Askar Mamin and pointed out the interest in business sources with further enhancement and strengthening of relationships.

At present time, the industry- investment cooperation program between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation for 2017-2020 was approved on mutual increase of investment in processing industry and energy, support for implementation of investment projects.

Having pointed out the fixity of focus of Kazakhstan on development of strategic partnership with Russia, Askar Mamin remarked on further activation of cooperation in the field of fuel and energy complex, industry cooperation, automobile industry, science and technology, innovative development, implementation of transit-transport potential.

Basically, the trade and economic cooperation between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian Federation has great potential for further development in various sectors of the economy,” – said Askar Mamin.

During the meeting, bilateral negotiations of Askar Mamin and Igor Shuvalov were conducted in private and in extended formats.

Following the results of the 19th meeting of the intergovernmental Kazakh-Russian commission on trade and economic cooperation, the heads of delegations signed an appropriate protocol. Within the framework of interstate commission meeting, Aktobe Rail and Section Works LLP and Russian Railways JSC signed a document on cooperation.

Head of NC KTZ JSC Kanat Alpysbayev and President of Russian railways JSC Oleg Belozerov signed the document.

High quality long rails produced by Kazakh manufacturers be used during modernization of the Russian railways. ARBZ will deliver 7.5 thousand tons of R65 rails with the length up to 120 meters until the end of this year. Export potential of Aktobe Rail and Section Works is more than 550 thousand tons up to 2020.

“When EurAsEC project was originated, the Heads of our countries said that it is necessary to provide real cooperation, real integration. ARBZ plant is just a brainchild. I hope that product of the plant will be in demand at the territory of many countries,” – said Igor Shuvalov.

During the visit of Aktobe, the Heads of Russian and Kazakhstan delegations visited a number of facilities intended for social needs including Nazarbayev Intellectual School and Academy of creative activities.
