RZD Logistics organized comprehensive delivery of 100-meter long rails with total weight of 7,5 thousand tons from Kazakhstan to Russia for needs of RZD. As it was clarified in the company, the project was realized in cooperation with Central Traffic Management Department, Transport Service Centre, Central and South Ural Traffic Maintenance Department.
In the course of meeting of Kazakh and Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economical Cooperation which was held on November 16, 2017 in Aktobe (Kazakhstan), RZD and Aktobe Rail and Section Works LLP (ARBZ) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. In accordance with the document, ARBZ is ready to export rails intended for construction of general-purposed railways and high-speed trunks to Russia.
RZD Logistics served as logistics operator for the shipment and in 5 days after signing of the memorandum the first train with long rails was sent from station named Kyzgaldakty of Kazakh Railways to station named Metallurgicheskaya of South-Ural Railway. Comprehensive service included development together with the customer of loading process, confirmation and approval of such process for the network of Kazakh and Russian railways, feeding of specialized train composition consisting of eight cars by four 25-meter platforms each, payment of tariff within the territory of the Russian Federation, execution of documents, inspection, monitoring of loading process, shipment with ensuring safety of the goods throughout the entire transportation route. Totally, there were sent 4 trains.
Earlier it was declared that in year of 2018 RZD will consider an opportunity of steady supplies according to result of evaluation of the new rails.
