The first rolling of domestic rail products took place on October 16, 2015.

On 16th of October an outstanding event was happened in Kazakhstan: for the first time ever in history of our country pathbreaking domestic rail product had been rolled at Aktobe Rail and Section Works.

Aktobe Rail and Section Works is one-of-a-kind enterprise which had been built by order of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nursultan Nazarbayev and which have no analogues in the CIS countries.   

In December 2014, the first technological phase of rails and sections production had been started during nation-wide teleconference bridge “New Industrialization of Kazakhstan: results of 2014 and the first five-year plan” with participation of the Head of State.       

Construction of the plant along with the complete production line commissioning process had been successfully finished in the shortest time and today the enterprise proceeded with production of finished products.

On the special event in Aktobe a speech was made by President of National Company Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Mr. Askar MAMIN, CEO of Siemens S.p.A. Mr. Giuseppe FERRARIO, Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Asset ISEKESHEV, Mayor of Aktobe region Mr. Berdibek SAPARBAYEV, Minister of Transport and Communication of Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Argynbek MALABAYEV and Chairman of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC Mr. Javid GURBANOV.       

Apart from that Rail and Section Works had been visited by members of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, directors of railway administration of CIS and Baltic countries.

The President of NC Kazakhstan Temir Zholy JSC Mr. Askar Mamin stated that “by order of the Head of State a new sector of railway machinery had been created in Kazakhstan within the shortest time. New plants for production of freight and passenger diesel locomotives, electric locomotives, rail cars, heavy car casting, and infrastructural facilities had been constructed in cooperation with such worldwide leaders as General Electric, Alstom, Talgo and Siemens. 

In addition, Mr. Askar Mamin highlighted the fact that “production output of the first domestic rail products is a significant event in the history of Industrial Development of Kazakhstan”.

Design annual capacity of Rail and Section Works is 430 thousand tons of steel products. First of all, there are heat-strengthened rails P65 with 120 m length intended for high-speed railways. Furthermore, at this plant it is planned the production output of 230 thousand tons of sections such as beams, angles and channels. It will allow to meet the requirements for rail and section products not only in our republic as well as in neighboring countries.   

Later on the same day at the plant it was organized the Round table which participants raised the questions of development related to railway mechanical engineering in Kazakhstan and prospects of the international cooperation.

During negotiations Kazakhstan plants have been presented such as producers of railway production such as Tulpar Talgo, Electric Locomotive Assembly Plant (ELAP), Locomotive Assembly Plant (LAP) and export support instruments from Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC.

Participants of the Round table came to a joint conclusion that dialogue between the producers of railway production of Euroasian region and financial institutions was very fruitful and efficient.

Attendees of the event have studied the support program for Kazakhstan export which is realized by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (DBK).

The Chairman of the Board of DBK Mr. Bolat Zhamishev stated that “the Bank took part in joint financing of construction of Rail and Section Works and is ready to provide financial “shoulder” for expansion of product deliveries to foreign consumers”.

Within the framework of Round table, the memorandums on cooperation for delivery of finished products between Aktobe Rail and Section Works and railway administrations of Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan were signed.
